Archaeological Museum Bhanbhore, Thatta

Banabhore Museum was inaugurated by Mr. Mumtaz Hussain Sittara-i-Pakistan on Sunday 14th May, 1976.

■ Section showing different periods of occupation 1st century B.c. 12th to 13th Century A.C.

■ Syntho-Parthian pottery 1st Century B.C. 2nn Century A.C.

■ Pottery mould stamped and moulded pottery Sassanian period 3rd to 4th Century.

■ Miscellaneous objects of Brahmanical period 2nd to 7th Century A.C.

■ Painted Pottery pre Museum period up to 7th Century.

■ Storage Jars 8th century A.C.

■ White paste pottery 8th century A.C.

■ Glass objects Muslim period 8th Century to 13th Century A.C.

■ Glazzed pottery with Kufic inscription 11th to 12th Century A.C.

■ Chinese Pottery 9th to 12th Century A.C.

Devolution of Site from Federal to Sindh Govt. 2011 As a consequence of the passage of constitution of the passage of Constitution (18th amendment) Act, 2010, Bhanbhore and 130 other archaeological sites, museums and monuments, have been transferred from Federal Department of Archaeology and Museums (DoAM) to Culture Department, Government of Sindh in July 2011.

■ Entry to the Museums is through the main gate. Booking Office and Book Shop are situated at the main entrance.

■ Archaeological Museums are open to public on all six days of the week, (Wednesday closed) observing the following timings.

■ Timings: 09:00 am to 05:00 pm
